On Tuesday 4th June the National Law Firm, Wotton + Kearney, launched the first of their “Causes Our People Support” series. Wotton + Kearney recognises that alongside the charities the firm supports, many of their people have causes that they personally champion. This series provides the opportunity for those people to share their support of these charities and broadens a collective understanding of the different types of need in our community and what Wotton + Kearney can do to help.
In Episode 1 of their series, Melbourne Partner, Nick Lux, introduced Wotton + Kearney to “Friends of Mithra”, a cause he has supported since his first visit to India on a school trip in 1992.
Nick was joined by special guest Jennifer Byrne (host of the ABC “Book Club” and SBS “Mastermind”), and Helen Mahoney OAM (the niece of Sr Mary Theodore, founder of Mithra). There were very moving personal accounts by Nick, Jennifer and Helen form their visits to Mithra and the impact that Mithra has had on their lives and the lives of the families that Mithra serves.
