Marshalamni, Leelavathi and Shanthi – Essential service

Three times a day – breakfast, lunch and dinner – one hundred and fifty Mithra residents head for the Dining Hall to be served a nutritious meal. Most of the meals are prepared and cooked in the attached kitchen by the cook and his wife. But behind the scenes are special staff members – Marshalamni, Leelavathi and Shanthi, – who do all the preparation for the cook, serve the meals and oversee the cleanliness of the Dining Room. The pride they take in their duties is evident especially when they assist volunteers to get involved. There’s nothing they enjoy more than others appreciating their work for the residents.

The purchase of the rice, vegetables, eggs, and sometimes chicken or fish, is only possible because of the generosity of benefactors and sponsors.
