Opening of new girls dormitory

It is wonderful news to finally see the new girls dormitory opened and receiving students. The building was blessed and opened in early November and is now home to all the permanent female students and their carers.

The blessing and opening was timely as flood rains has once again ravaged Chennai and flooded the old dormitory. This new building is built above flood level and is gated for the safety of all, and so designed to capture the afternoon breezes that help cool the city during the summer.

Mithra is very grateful to its generous Australian donors who played a significant role in financing the building of this much needed home for the girls at Mithra.
