Remembering Jan Tracy: A Cherished Friend of Mithra for Over 20 Years

Portrait of Jan Tracy, a kind-hearted woman with a warm smile, who brought joy and laughter to Mithra during her many visits over more than 20 years. She is remembered fondly by the children, staff, and nuns for her dedication and friendship.

Along with the children, staff and Nuns at Mithra we deeply mourn the death of such a wonderful, kind hearted person - Jan Tracy from Sydney.

Jan brought so much joy and fun with each of her visits over more than 20 years when she first started visiting Sr Mary Theodore and Mithra. Jan, along with her friend Gail, first visited Mithra in 1990 after seeing the 60 Minutes documentary, “Big Sister”. After the screening of the show, Jan wrote to Sr Mary Theodore and asked if they could visit. Her reply was swift and affirmative - “Come on over, you are most welcome”. After that, Jan and Gail returned to Mithra almost every year.

Vale dear friend of Mithra… we will truly miss you.
