TWO INSPIRING WOMEN

One a Queenslander and the other a South Australian, Sr Mary Theodore (May Asmar) and Sr Patricia OP (Patricia Power) spent many years of their lives serving in India. Sr Mary Theodore founded Mithra in 1977, and Sr Patricia – after retiring as a senior Maths teacher in Adelaide – came out of retirement to spend eleven years establishing the school and guiding teachers in Mithra (Chennai).

As we enter the 40th Anniversary year of Mithra, we remember these two remarkable and inspiring women. Friends of Mithra salute these ladies and renew their commitment to keeping the dream alive – the rehabilitation of poor children with multiple disabilities in Chennai.
